Noir opened her eyes where she basked in the morning light. Sunlight fell across her face, and Shanks took a moment to admire the way it turned her hair to silver streaked gold and her dark brown eyes to pools of honey, and emphasized the freckles kissing her nose and cheekbones and the laugh lines at her eyes and mouth.

Lines that deeped with Noir’s smile. “Sure.” She told him, her answer coming as easy as Shanks’ question, as easy as the cut off laughter as Shanks reached out to pull her close and kiss her, slow and deep and unhurried.
