Below is taken from my notes from listening to shows on KPFA Radio 12/24/2024:
We spend too much time staring at places we have no access to, like, the White House
Instead, agitate, organize, build from below. From the community and from the street.
If you want to feel powerless, read the New York Times or watch CNN. Doing nothing equals sitting on the couch watching MSMBC. Your’e doomed.
Instead, build one million experiments. Find the thing that you can do. You don’t have to find the right, perfect thing or the all encompassing thing.
In a world that’s swirling and dynamic, we have to:
1) pay attention: We have to open our eyes again and again.
2) Be astonished: be aware of the beauty and the undeserved pain, for example, homeless kids in Chicago. Otherwise their situation is normal.
It’s NOT normal.
3) Act: You have to act. You can do something. One thing.
4) Doubt yourself. Be self critical. Rethink
So:
ATTETION
ASTONISHED
ACT
DOUBT
AAAD
