10, 13, 17, and 19 please? =)
10:What’s your biggest writer pet-peeve?
Answered previously! So copy/paste:
Hm, not sure how to interpret this one - about writing in general, me or about others?
I hate that I haven’t got enough time to do as much as I want (I have a full time job and other hobbies to tend to). When I’m reading other works, I get frustrated if the writer uses a plot device too many times or fails to move the story along, and when I’m writing, I hate when I sit down to write and manage to waste time elsewhere (hi tumblr).
13:What’s your favorite writing quote?
Ooh...this one excites me in so many ways:
"This sentence has five words. Here are five more words. Five-word sentences are fine. But several together become monotonous. Listen to what is happening. The writing is getting boring. The sound of it drones. It’s like a stuck record. The ear demands some variety. Now listen. I vary the sentence length, and I create music. Music. The writing sings. It has a pleasant rhythm, a lilt, a harmony. I use short sentences. And I use sentences of medium length. And sometimes, when I am certain the reader is rested, I will engage him with a sentence of considerable length, a sentence that burns with energy and builds with all the impetus of a crescendo, the roll of the drums, the crash of the cymbals—sounds that say listen to this, it is important.” - Gary Provost
17:Would you like your books to be turned into TV shows, movies, video games, or none?
I have no problem with any of those. I think a tv show probably can do more justice to a book, and the original stories in my head would be more suited for a tv show. So we'll say shows. And the idea of video games is cool too - I think they could be video games!
On a slight tangent, I don't mind movies being made into shows; it encourages more people to go back and read the books. I always assume a book is better than a show/movie, and try to read it first before the show/movie comes out, so my imagination can fill in the details before I read it. This is what first prompted me to read Lord of the Rings - knowing a movie was coming out. I bought it and finished it just before the first movie.
19:Do you prefer writing on a computer or longhand?
And answered - another copy/paste. :)
It’s all computer now. I tried to write in a journal at my in-laws earlier this year and my hand was sore too quickly. I can type longer and faster than I can write.
Thank you! I'm glad you asked the quote one. :)
