[#SELFLOVE]Ā Lovevolution Powered by Be. your|Self Ā Hosted by GabSoul & A'Tiya Sinae Sunday, January 22 | 1-4:30pmĀ Hub Seventeen | 114 5th Avenue New York, NY 10011Ā
There are only two human emotions: love and fear. In a society where we often get distracted by all the things in between, we hope to reassure our guests that sharing and embracing love is far more gratifying than living in fear. Our perception of love does not change the fact that it is perfect energy. There is no need to change love; instead we must shift our mindsets so that we grow with it in mind. And the best part about it is that we were all created with love; we just have to tap into it and let it manifest through all aspects of our being.
Because change begins within, our first event LOVEVOLUTION is āan ode to self-careā (cc: Queen Solange) and mental wellness so that each of us can be fit for the fight.
We welcome all guests to come mingle, dance, share personal concerns and testimonies, and take a few hours of their day to tend to their inner vitality and Be!
Besides, we could all use some love post-inauguration. *sigh*

AND TO THINK THAT SESAME STREET IS NO LONGER ON PUBLIC TELEVISION...
If youāre like me, you grew up with your eyes glued to the television as Count Dracula taught you your numbers, or a giant bird helped teach you the meaning of fellowship just by strolling down the street. Here we are today as millennials, living in a new age of enlightenment, discovering seemingly new ways to value ourselves despite our conditioned past, and uplifting the children who are watching us in the process.Ā
I tell ya, I wish this song was available to me as a child. It took me 20 years to begin to embrace my thickĀ āuntamableā hair. To be able to defend that blackness isn't "ghetto" or unacceptable. That it is okay to claim our blackness as our own culture. Now that Iām 24 and can appreciate my entire being, I know how important it is to spread that message to little girls so that they donāt have to undergo what I, and many other women, had to go through. Itās refreshing to see the diversity and progressiveness in kidsā shows. The only thing is that I wish Sesame Street was still as available to the children whose families canāt afford to have HBO, where the show is now being aired. Thankfully we have the Internet (I guess).
