— WE'RE GOING ON HIATUS .
there's no delicate way to say it; the wannabe main and admin team are going to be stepping back from running the roleplay effective immediately. this is not an announcement that we ever wanted to make, however it is a necessary one. we've loved running wannabe for the last three years and some change; it's genuinely been a pleasure and one of my proudest accomplishments! however, all of the admin team have faced significant life changes over the last few years that unfortunately all came to a head this month.
without getting into specifics, our current team now has to prioritize real life obligations including education, work, health, and family. we've always preached that roleplay should never come before real life. normally we'd be able to absorb the work of one admin/mod while they need to take a temporary step back but this time we all had significant obligations come up during the same timeframe. there's no way we can deliver the wannabe experience we want to share with all of you while maintaining our real world responsibilities.
this does not mean that we're abandoning the project entirely though! in addition to addressing our real life situations, we'll be taking a couple months away from wannabe to examine and reevaluate our systems, plot, and protocols with the goal of creating a more manageable and engaging directory. while we don't have any concrete plans today, we already have some ideas floating around that we'll be able to expand upon in the coming weeks/months until we can share them all with you again.
milestones like vybe, the upcoming sr media girl group, and other plans that we hadn't yet been able to implement will all be included in the new and improved version of wannabe. and, of course, we'll include a way for returning members to pick up where they left off with their characters once we're ready to reopen. but this is all down the road with details to be worked out and released at a later date.
we won't be closing the blog down just yet, though once we start working on changes we may put it on private so we can reveal the new wannabe all at once. the ooc discord server will remain functional and we'll share updates there as they come. if you'd like to be notified of any updates, please turn post notifications on for this blog or join the server using this link.
we'll also be keeping our mod application form open in case anyone would like to join the team and help keep wannabe 2.0 going! as we've found out, we can never have enough help as we never know what situations may occur.
our goal is to reopen before the winter holidays. regardless of what the actual timeline ends up being, we'll check in again in mid/late october with progress and hopefully a more concrete reopening timeline.
before i sign off this message, i just want to take the opportunity to thank each and every wannabe member who has been with us over the last three years, past and present. whether you've been with us since day one or only joined a handful of weeks ago, i can't thank you enough for trusting us to be a home for your muses. i've loved watching characters form and grow over the years here at wannabe and experiencing this community flourish. i've run several rps in my time on tumblr and i can say without a shadow of a doubt that this is my favorite directory i've ever watched come together. i can't wait to return to this place, new and improved, and continue to watch everyone write amazing stories together.
