ive been meaning to ask this for a while, why is dallas.. like that. why do bailey and rain tolerate him let alone date him, he seems like kind of a prick lmfao
dallas is like that because we live in a global socioeconomic system that rewards and encourages abuse of others and ourselves (these 2 are not as different as you’d think). it benefits him in various overt and covert ways to be Like That. even though a loose superficial air that we don’t condone abuse as a society is up, the fact of the matter is between optional social support networks, the need to prove abuse happened “beyond a [subjective] shadow of a doubt,” and relatively trivial punishments for successfully proven accusations, it’s currently easier to abuse than it is to stop someone who abuses. that fact alone will always hold accountability for encouraging abuse no matter how socially frowned upon it is.
rain and bailey “tolerate” him because abusers make it very difficult and immediately harmful to leave them in tandem with the inescapable cultural atmosphere of apologia, apathy, and acceptance. they do not want to give up the luxuries that abusing people provides to them.
currently, i’m thinking of how to overhaul borderline from the ground up, because it’s just not sticking the way i wanted it to. it’s a big challenge to show the sheer complexity that factors into abuse in a succinct, manageable way.but in the most current draft of borderline, rain WAS slotted to break it off with dallas fairly early into the story. she’s older and wiser than bailey, and she knew when to jump ship before something so simple wasn’t possible anymore. even the act of allowing the breakup to happen gave dallas a wedge to drive in between her and bailey, though. if they broke up, any concern or warning rain tried to give bailey could be written off as jealousy and drama, any attempt to keep an equal footing as a partner would force her to interact more with dallas, and any time she put forth that effort could be used as explosive ammunition about how bailey was seeing his ex. social quarantine is the first step to control.
Me and Sammy we had the time of our life at the beach, we are missing it already, 🌊🧜♀️ #beachpuppy #miamilife (at Hallandale Beach, Florida) https://www.instagram.com/p/BsWYic-HQNs/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1sfo6mc334vrv
where! is mawkish's name from? i love it a ton
"mawkish” is an english word originally stemming from the word “maggot.” it means sweet and sentimental to a sickening degree. she was a very sweet puppy, very clingy, you could tell she was weaned a bit too early. and that is why i named her mawkish
"Pawease, can I swim again?" 1) me,
as an artist, what do you think is the most important/meaningful constructive criticism you've received?
honestly idk people don’t give me con crit a lot its either “you can do no wrong” or “i literally only came here looking for anything to complain about” and it’s always public either way so i guess i gotta go with any time somebody’s messaged me about something potentially racist
