Mid-morning Wake Up

All the books Allison had read all stated the same thing in terms of getting rest: Sleep whenever the baby sleeps. So that was how Allison had come to dozing on the bed in the loft just after breakfast. She'd been up since four, finding a routine difficult to settle into, and as soon as her daughter was asleep, she'd joined her.

But hours later, the piercing cry of the little girl echoed through the loft, and Allison was up in a second, making her way over to the crib... Only to find herself being beaten there, and she groaned, rubbing her eyes, and leaning on one of the beams. 

"Derek, you don't need to do that." She muttered, yawning... even though she was grateful for it, she still never liked admitting when she needed help. "There's some expressed milk in the fridge... I'll heat it up then you can have some daddy/daughter time, sound good?"
