It was 1976, I had been making photographs for about a year. My friend and classmate, Michael Schermond, asked if I'd like to see a Queen concert at the Beacon Theater in NYC. Now with the movie out I decided to rummage through some old boxes. Here are a few images of Freddy Mercury that have survived the time since then. Shot on Kodak High Speed Ektachrome, ASA 160 (the old E-3 process for you geeks out there), with an Olympus OM-1 and a Vivitar 85-205 f3.8 zoom lens. Since I had never been to a concert, or taken photos, Frank Ippolito said to just shoot wide open at 1/60th of a second. And so I did. Please excuse the blurriness. :-) #freddymercury #bohemianrhapsody #killerqueen #beacontheatre #nyc #1976 #concertphotography #highspeedektachrome @frankippolito https://www.instagram.com/p/BtJykbDAwrM/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1o7c3adf25k0k
