desperately considering writing a self-indulgent crossover fic between waterloo road and the story of tracy beaker
Just some of my favourite care workers from the Beakerverse <3 (left to right: Jenny Edwards, Nathan Jones, Mike Milligan, May-Li Wang, Ben Pratt, Georgia Finch)
Crackship Canoe: Jackie Hopper (The Story of Tracy Beaker) x Peter Beale (EastEnders)
Requested by Anonymous
• Peter and Jackie were in the same year at school and also a running club
• Ian disapproved of their friendship, due to Jackie being in care and her tendency to run away (Lucy liked her for that and demanded that Peter be her best friend)
• Peter and Jackie competed in PE and sports, both being incredibly athletic (Jackie wanted to win, but Peter just wanted to spend time with her and impress her)
• Ian continued to try and keep them away from each other, especially after the two of them and Jay snuck into a burned down house and got in trouble with the police (Shelley was NOT happy about that)
• (Side headcanon, people joke that Jay and Jackie could be twins)
• Dot and Jack (Jackie’s grandpa) were old friends from school. Dot went to Jack’s funeral, and Peter came along to support Jackie
• One night, Jackie did another runner and the care home phoned round the Beale house to see if she was there. Peter admitted she mentioned something about running away again. He stayed up all night, comforted by Jane, worried about her
• The night that Jack died, Tracy immediately phoned the Beales to tell Peter, and he begged Jane and Ian to drive him to the care home so he could wait with her
• After the camping trip disaster where Peter nearly drowned, Shelley drove Jackie to the hospital so that she could see him after she threatened to go on her own
• When they were all teenagers, Lucy and Jackie became jealous of how close Peter and Lauren were getting. Lucy constantly teased Jackie about her obvious feelings for Peter and ended up blurting them out to him one day out of spite
• Peter didn’t believe that Jackie had a crush on him, thinking they were just mates (despite having a massive crush on her himself)
• Whereas, Jackie thought Peter would never fancy her because of how tomboy-ish she was

Scarepair Crowboat: Brodie x Maisie Martin x Chelsey Watts (The Dumping Ground) + “Farmer's Market”
It was obvious that Chelsey was overwhelmed. She kept eyeing all the stalls, her head swinging back and forth, tugging on Maisie's sleeve and pointing things out. Even Brodie was interested, though only because the market was bigger than any of the ones he'd ever seen up the high streets where he used to live.
Maisie, who had the most experience, lead the way with a list of what they needed in hand. It had been what she had used to convince Ben that they didn't need supervision and that he could wait in the van, as she obviously knew her way around.
It was like stepping into a scene from her favourite movie. A few of the faces were new, but most of them lit up after a moment of looking at her, exclaiming and asking her how she was, how was her mum, her gran. Chelsey squeezed her hand when those questions were asked, and she could feel Brodie close to her side.
Still, it was amazing. They had bags upon bags of vegetables and fruit; Chelsey was digging through them when they sat on a nearby bench to take a break, shaking her head in disbelief.
'I mean, look at this!' She procured a regular mango. 'It's huge! I've never seen, like, a proper mango in real life before. Or this!'
She pulled out a Pink Lady apple.
'It's so pink! I didn't know they could be so pretty!'
Brodie and Maisie shared a look between them, both grinning, but Chelsey didn't mind; she knew it was out of fondness, like when she would smile and shake her head while they ranted about wrestling.
'Do you think we'd get away with not sharing any of those yoghurts we got?' Maisie asked, peering into the bag to remind herself which flavours they got. 'I love the Peach ones. They're so smoothy and creamy.'
'Don't worry, I don't see the little ones fighting you for fresh yoghurt,' Brodie said, his grin widening as he leaned over to pinch the little jar from her hands. 'Yep. No chocolate balls or banana flakes. They won't go near it.'
'Oh, Ben's calling me,' Chelsey announced, pulling out her phone. She pulled a sad face. 'Guess that means it's time to go.'
'You know what's funny?' Brodie said. 'I think that's the first time I've seen your phone in your hand all day.'
Chelsey glanced at it, and her eyes widened. 'Oh, my god, you're right. I was supposed to be filming this! It would have been perfect, my followers would love to see something like this!'
Maisie squeezed her knee and smiled. 'I think it's okay that they weren't part of this. It was just for us. Besides, there's always next time.'
Surprisingly, Chelsey smiled back, her eyes flicking between the two of them. She nodded.
'Yeah, you're right. Today has been really fun.' Then, as an afterthought: 'We should at least get a selfie, though.'
Maisie and Brodie agreed, because it was a shock that she wasn't dragging them back around the market to do it all again but on camera this time. They squeezed up together on the bench, and Chelsey held up the mango to get it in the frame, making them all laugh. It was a cute photo, and Maisie's heart fluttered when she saw them all together on the phone.
It started ringing again, and they hurried back to find Ben before he could panic and tell Anne that he'd lost them and send out a search party.
Every Episode of The Dumping Ground: “Home Alone” (Freedom — Part 1) [Series 1, Episode 1]
♤ Aired: 4th January 2013
“Seizing their chance to be free of grown-up supervision, the young people take charge of the Dumping Ground... driving Gus to breaking point.”
I keep getting the urge to draw some Jacqueline Wilson Universe fanart, like. I have many ideas for Tracy Beaker fanart, and for a few of the other books, but I also know that it would be purely for myself. Am I allowed to be self-indulgent is the real question here?
I just finished watching the final episode of The Beaker Girls and I’m so emotional. Mike, Tracy, Justine and Peter all in one room again was too much.
