bewitched… i NEED a part two to the self indulgent beans fic i love it when ppl write about forsaken characters as beans omg its like the cutest thing ever
Okay I couldn't wait to start writing this because I read it while on the bus to my program but now it's half past 12(as of starting this) and I can't get the idea out of my head along with some suggestions from both comments and friends-
Reader gets She/Her again! (Sorry for not including that last time, didn't think it'd get much attention lol)
Life really knew how to throw curveball at you lately.
Your little beans seem to have gotten much more intelligent since you took them in- or maybe they were just less shy around you now- but this also lead to them growing quite clingy. But that was just about all that was good.
Otherwise? Misfortune after misfortune, accident after accident, by the end you were exhausted and struggled to stay awake or take care of your pets. They seemed oddly understanding but you chalked it up to pets being somehow able to tell when something's wrong. And with you everything was going wrong.
First you thought you could introduce your partner to your new pets but that ended in an entire argument where you managed to figure out they had been using you for your money and you promptly kicked them out without leaving room for further discussion. You didn't know why you were crying so much afterwards but your tiny furballs were split between scratching at the door and angrily hissing as if to defend you and rubbing up against you as comfort. "They won't find another like me..." You kept repeating as one of your favourite songs kept playing in the background. You needed multiple nights cycling through cuddle piles and formations of beans until you could calm down enough to not think about them anymore. Though, maybe you got a little used to the cuddle piles so why not continue?
Then there was a fallout with a friend group you thought you were close with. Apparently your ex was much closer them them than you would've liked and being the drama-seekers they were, you were getting slandered online with your family having to fend them off with solid evidence of your innocence. It would be quite comical if it weren't for the fact you were the one being attacked so relentlessly and drained for any emotional energy you had left by the end.
And even after many more incidents because of that jerkface you dumped came news of your cousin's passing. You knew she had been sick but she had reported feeling better lately so you thought...
Oh well, the funeral was only a few hours anyways... You were just exhausted...
You were already mentally broken down but could've never been prepared to hear voices inside your home before you even got the keys into the door.
That wasn't right, you just got back from the funeral and there were people inside? And they turned on the lights too?? Either your family had somehow gotten here before you to make some sort of surprise party or these were the world's dumbest robbers...
Despite knowing you should've just called the police, you figured this would be where the building rage from everything could unwind. A raw storm of emotions that these criminals would fear. Luckily you had your metal bat hidden away in a secret little compartment under the welcome mat.
"Alright you little shits!" You started, entering your house in a fury. "You picked the wrong fucking house for your little robbery!" You yelled out, the house falling into silence almost immediately until the form of a child startled you out of your anger.
"[Reader]! It's just us!" The kid exclaimed as you lowered your bat. You had confusion written all over your face as your mind ran through every possible explanation over why he knew your name and what you should do until you noticed a a familiar tag hanging from his neck... A tag you only put on...
Reality hit you like a brick as you finally dropped the bat and sputtered out noises until your brain finally seemed to somewhat catch up to what was happening. "C00lkidd?! But how-?!" You quickly lifted him up, making sure your eyes weren't just tricking you as you looked towards your living room to see two more kiddos making their way over as well.
"I don't know! We can just do this funny thing but we didn't wanna scare you!" His giggling at least told you that he wasn't really scared of you but you were still in shock over the whole situation. "I told you she'd be home soon!" Pr3typriincess huffed before clinging to your side, watching as Bluudud just groaned in annoyance.
Yup... Their personalities definitely matched what you were used to...
Eventually though, more figures came out of the kitchen in similar fashion, though they were obviously adults... And if the kids were like this, you had no doubt your other furballs were in the same boat.
A theory quickly proven by the appearance of their father who came out of the kitchen with a nervous smile on his face. "We wanted to surprise you..." He sighed, seeming relieved when you decided to just put down C00lkidd and pat the little trio a bit. "Well, mission accomplished but you guys also gave me one hell of a heart attack..." You chuckled nervously, your legs slightly shaken from the wave of emotions all clashing in your heart. 007n7 quickly made sure to help you to the living room and set you down on the couch in your favourite spot as the kids all tried to stick close to you. You didn't know wether you were more confused or exhausted but you thanked him anyways, watching him leave as the little trio of colours decided to snuggle up on you like they used to after a long work day. It was surprisingly comforting.
Maybe it was more because you had already gotten used to it but it was almost subconscious how your hands went up to give all three of them affection as you watched the next pair come into the room to make an appearance.
Two Time and Azure. Two of the more clingier ones. Somehow...
"[Reader]! Thank the Spawn you've calmed down!" Two Time spoke up first, confusing you for a moment but quickly sitting down besides you with Azure following close behind. It was always adorable to you how the two seemed to just be attached to each other like glue. But seeing them be almost taller than you made you feel like a joke. "You had us startled when you came back so soon."
You took a deep breath, bracing yourself as you brought up a hand to rub at your temples. "Yeah, I just needed to come back early just...." Your words died in your throat, holding back sobs as the concerned stares the kids threw your way reminded you that this probably wasn't the place or time. Even if you just came back from a funeral. "I think today is just a lot... Do you guys know how this even works?" You asked quietly, motioning towards them all with shaky hands that C00lkidd quickly redirected to himself and Bluudud. As much as him and Pr3typriincess may deny it, you knew those two secretly loved your affection...
"Honestly, we're not sure of it ourselves..." Azure chuckled lightly, unsure how to make sense of it all. "We planned to tell you today with some cake 007n7 and Elliot are making right now but you kinda surprised us instead..."
You just nodded, unsure how to feel as the pair relaxed against the couch cushions and let you know how much of the small things you never even noticed were from them.
That one time you forgot to put away your leftovers and found them safely tucked away in the fridge? You figured you were just forgetting that you took care of stuff but it was really Elliot not being able to let any food go to waste.
Your hectic mornings when you could've sworn you forgot to take your lunch to work? 007n7 and C00lkidd made sure it was in your bag before you even woke up.
When you fell asleep on the couch on lazy friday nights? The leftover dishes were neatly stacked on the table in a way you could've excused it as your half-asleep brain at least still having the courtesy to make things easier without moving while in reality 1x and Shedletsky just didn't want you waking up in filth.
All instances you tried to chalk up to your forgetfulness but in reality it was all of them trying to show their gratitude for you having essentially saved them when they were weak and hungry and were always so patient with them no matter what. You barely even noticed the soft smile growing on your face as Two Time and Azure recounted the stories. Sure, it was weird that you suddenly had all these people in your home but part of you wanted to be grateful. You just didn't know how to feel about the situation as a whole.
For now you could just let the smell of food tempt you into a much calmer state. You could always think about your situation when you weren't riddled with grief and comfort at the same time...
And here I finish it after 5 days lol, my bad
