So PETA's up to it again
This time, a teenager went hunting with her family, and was nearly mauled to death by a bear. She almost died in those woods, and later on she received a letter from PETA. You wanna know what it said?
It said "This seems to be a good opportunity to put yourself in the place of the individuals you and the rest of your hunting party were trying to kill. As terrifying as it must have been to be attacked by a bear, please consider the frightening and painful experiences that hunters set out to impose upon animals."
Are you freaking kidding me? That may be the most disgusting thing I've read in my life, because a girl almost dies, and they don't even fucking care. You wanna know why we hunt? A few reasons. We hunted originally to feed ourselves. And people still do that. We don't just leave the bodies behind and laugh, we get meat from it. We also hunted in modern day society to control overpopulation of animals, including dangerous ones such as bears. In a news report in which a member of PETA and a major figure in a hunting association is talked to with the newscaster, he mentions an overpopulation of bears that occurred in New Jersey, because the government outlawed hunting of them. PETA says "That's not true" and the newscaster even agrees. It happened, get over it. We also hunt because if we all of a sudden stopped hunting animals, they would stop being afraid of us, and would grow more brave towards us. Imagine if bears just got courageous and started walking down out streets.
All in all, this is just horrible. PETA would rather lecture a woman for hunting than leave her and her damn family alone while the poor girl's in shock over what happened. I'm all for animal rights and that while we do need to use them for food, that doesn't mean we treat them like shit. But THIS...THIS is just taking it to levels that are completely absurd. If you skipped all that, PETA wrote a letter to a teenage girl saying to stop hunting after she was mauled by a bear and almost died. Yeah, kinda shitty ain't it?
