Gosh I just adore these two. They’re perfect for one another!!! Mattie, adorable little guy he is, would NEVER feel unappreciated or lonely so long as he’s with Yao. Yao would make sure Matt knew how much he loved him. He’d remember all the dates important to him and spoil the hell out of him on his birthday. He might not be Mr. PDA but I think Matt would be just as content with keeping things low-key (lest Francis, Arthur and ESPECIALLY Alfred get all up in his face about their relationship).

And Yao can get pretty lonely and sad himself with everything that’s happened between his family and his not exactly being their favorite person. Matthew would be there for him just as much and would be the best listener, and I think Yao really needs that in his life. Also I believe I read somewhere that it was canon that Canada was South Korea’s 2nd favorite nation? (After China, I assume). So right there for me makes me think that Yong Soo would approve of their relationship which I think Yao would be ridiculously happy about.  c:

They have at least two mutual friends (Cuba & Russia) and not to mention they both have bear pals (hence my ship name for them) that could play with each other.

They’re just perfect for each other in every way and I will never stop thinking so. <3
