jocelyn is at a loss as she looks up at the animatronic bear ( a friend , not a foe ? ? ? ) . he’s helping the kid . this is completely unheard of to her , and she can’t help but to wonder if he’s going to betray gregory at the last minute . but ... wouldn’t he have done that already , if he was going to ... ? dark brows furrow ever so slightly , lips pursing as she weighs her options on what to do or say . springtrap has been trying to sabotage him from the moment he got down here . that has to speak for something .
❛ you helped the child ― gregory . ❜

The sound of excited children playing, running and cheering was like music to Bonner's ears. It'd been so long since she'd gotten to hear it, so much so she couldn't remember the last time she'd heard it this clearly, just a curtain away. There was also music, loud and upbeat that she found herself moving her head to, because the band was playing, she hadn't gotten to meet them yet either.
So far, she was confined to the service tunnels, waiting for when the marketing team finished thinking of a good way of introducing her to the guests. It was taking them too long, and so she'd wandered closer to the stage, perhaps closer than she should have; just to see them, the others, with her own eyes instead of through screens or the many visual representations of them around the facility.
Bonnet moved the curtain just enough to peek out, and saw people —both adults and children of all ages— cheering for the band, and there they were, giving the performance their all. Their energy was contagious, Bonnet found herself soundlessly mouthing the song once she figured out part of the lyrics. She was so enthralled with the performance that when it suddenly ended, she was more focused on being disappointed she hadn't gotten there sooner than on the fact the curtain was meant to move forward and cover the stage, until it started moving away from her and to the front to shield the animatronics from the public's view.
A startled noise left her when she found herself exposed, and if the bubblegum pink with electric blue colors hadn't been enough to attract their attention, the noise definitely was.

WHO’S CRUSHING ON THE BUNNY ?
❝ that’s a lot of you. ❞
❝ how can i help? ❞
Awww, Freddy was such a sweetie offering to help her! He was like a giant, cuddly teddy bear! Except made of metal and he could easily kill her if she wasn’t careful (and protective of her gemstone!) Clearing her throat, she answered the animatronic’s question. There was one request she wanted to make, but was worried how it would come off.
“Well ah.. you know, I’m very short, er.. vertically challenged, you might say. So I was wondering if.. ah..” the alien pauses, shifting her eyes away awkwardly. “Could I.. ride on your shoulders for a little bit? I’d kinda like to.. get a different view of the Pizzaplex.”

Because you are my friend.
Hah. Good joke.
Alexander keeps his crowbar raised regardless, eyes narrowed at the bear and ready to swing at a moment’s notice. Freddy was just over a foot taller than he was. If he had to, he could run, but not for long. The animatronic seems cordial enough but appearances could easily deceive. All the bots looked friendly at first but he’d already narrowly escaped a swipe of Monty’s claws—these things could do some damage when they wanted to.
For now, though, maybe he could just talk. He had his crowbar, after all. One good whack to send Freddy’s head spinning and he could escape if needed.
“ Well, Mr. Fazbear, yer friends don’t seem all too fond’a me so fergive me if I don’t quite trust you. ‘m just tryna’ find m’granddaughter. I don’t mean any trouble. ”

"Are you having trouble?"
What made the bear possibly think that?
The fact she viciously fidgeted with the hem of her sweater that it threatened to tear the fabric?
The fact her shoulders could be seen shaking slightly? Her head lowered where she looked only to the ground directly under her? Her feet stuck to each other’s side like anywhere else in the floor was lava?
Nevertheless, the child looks up at him, a sorry attempt at a reassuring grin which was clearly forced, accompanied by a slightly paled face and her voice sounding somewhat tight in her throat.
“ Trouble? Me?? Um, of course not! ”
Maybe even a robot bear could see through her lie, because it was obvious as hell, that she was silently distressed over something. Was her discomfort even warranted? It hasn’t been uncommon for her to be left alone for a while-- especially now that her parents were becoming so much busier... She usually fared well, better than many kids actually. So why was this time different? Why was it being such a big deal this time? Maybe because yet her parents are still very clear: If they say or instruct something, they will stick to it.
“ I’m, just waiting for my mom! And my dad! They came around to do, uh, something! Not sure what, some adult stuff? Job interview I think? They brought me along and said I could play around while they did it, but that I should return here 2 hours after to meet with them again. ”
Yeah, so far so good. Except...
Madotsuki’s poorly put together “bravado” front slowly drops, it’s hard to keep the lie when she has to admit out loud that something is bothering her. Her eyes look away to a neon digital clock nearby.
“ ... it’s been over 3 hours now. ”
That’s not like her parents at all. Sure they can get off the clock sometimes, but if so it’s usually by, like 5 minutes, 10 minutes tops. They are very punctual and stick to their words. If something unexpected came up they would have found a way to let her know. They wouldn’t jut... leave her waiting like this.
This also implies that the girl has stayed put in that same spot she was now, for at least over an hour.
Finally, she looks up at Freddy again, unable to not let some of her worry to slip through.
“ ... have you seen them...? ”
