‘ tenten-san, w-what was papa like when he was my age? ’

“Hm? Your dad?” Tenten took a moment to really think, all the way back from when she first met him. It’s been so long and Lee changed so much from back then. “Well, when I first met him around your age, he was quite… eccentric. He was always talking about becoming a great shinobi that couldn’t use Genjutsu or Ninjutsu; originally I thought he was crazy.” That was her initial opinion, but there was way more to Lee than just that alone. “He can be quite an idiot sometimes, he was Gai-sensei’s wingman really. But,” she gave a proud smile, “nobody could ever say your dad was a failure. He’s probably the hardest worker I know. Despite not having the advantage of ninjutsu or genjutsu, he learned how to do taijutsu and became a master at it, to where everyone learned to respect him. Nobody could tell your dad “he couldn’t do this or that” because he will find ANYway to make it happen. Your father was and still is a man that earned the respect of his peers, the village, and his teammates. In my opinion, Metal, your dad will always be the number one example of a great shinobi.” @beastnurture
