At the Penteverall, Occtis Tachonis dreams of the time that his family had sent their most expendable child to ride with Royce's Wild Hunt, only he cannot seem to remember whether he was the child or the fox charging through the twilit forest.

All the sundered houses are incredibly dangerous and I think Royce at the height of their power were equally so. Here's an exploration of how that danger could have manifested through Occtis' childhood eyes. Yes, Julien Davinos does make a sex joke and yes Aranessa is a little terrifying. Episode four was absolutely nuts. To cope with it, here's Occtis getting to kill his dad when he's hit level 20, just because I want that bitch to look at the boy he wrote off and feel the inevitably of his own cruelty. Also featuring a Seven of Them EXU Divergence reference because I'm also insane about that atm

On Lunch - C4 E1

'What are you doing for lunch after this?' This is a question that is not asked in epic stories. It is a question for the everyday, not for the fall of heroes. And yet Thjazi asks, and still falls. The birds still swirl, and the flowers still grow.

I finished episode 1 this morning and I am enjoying myself so far. I love a world rich with lore and characters who feel part of it. We got culture and religion and intrigue. Bit shook that I had to male the Hal & Thjazi tag but I'm glad it's there now

On Finding a Brother's Wife - House of Guinness - Annedelaide

Edward asks Anne to find him a wife, to find Arthur a wife. He asks Anne to survey the properties. There's a wildcat in Anne fighting a sickness that her doctors cannot diagnose. She looks through papers of eligible women and feels the sickness take her heart, beating faster and faster until she knows that she will fall. She scrawls a name on Edward's list. Adelaide Guinness is perfect.

Victorian sexism is fucked up, isn't it? Here's a nice healthy exploration of it with a big healthy pile of Anne falling in love with Adelaide without realising that's what's happening to her. Please could someone write the E rated sequel to this, it's out of my expertise. Thank you

Wind and Worship - C2 Post-Canon

In the midst of investigations with Beau, Caleb returns to Blumenthal to tie the discoveries from the archive to the ghosts of his childhood, floating in the summer evening's wind.

I wrote a regular crit role fic again!! Yay yippee. Today is an exploration into the state sanctioned removal of religion from the Empire around the time of the annexation of the Julous Dominion, told through the lens of Caleb sitting in the wreckage of his childhood home on a summer's evening

It is such a delight and an honour to be able to tell you guys that there is now a German translation of my fic, Hourglass of Ash. Even if you are not fluent in German, it is not hard to see how well that Deckofmanymore has captured the feeling of this fic - and (!!) there's a wonderful bit where my playing with the word Vergessen in the original is completely elevated by seeing it surrounded by other Vergessens in their natural habitat. Jaskier and Vespula fight weekly. Their neighbours are not impressed

A fic for June! The dynamic these two had for the brief bit of time we saw them compelled me. They both seem like theatre bis with an open relationship and a need to have big public fights (and then come inside to gossip afterwards). It makes Jaskier look non threatening to Philippa and Dijiskra as well, so double win

It is the dark of the moon and the plums on the tree are ripe. The sour, sweet juice on Caleb's lips tastes like the old grief of nostalgia. Essek kisses through it to the heady taste of new memory

a while ago, a dear friend of mine asked me what it would be like if I wrote smutfic. well, here's an answer. turns out it's very much like my non smutfics (in that it's another vehicle for worldbuilding and queering some narratives). there's so many essays I could write about this one, but I won't. have fun, enjoy :))
