beautifulintense liked for a starter.
SCOUTING MISSIONS were the only things that made him feel NORMAL anymore. they weren’t authorized, it wasn’t an ORDER ; they were purely of his own accord. it allowed him to hold onto a piece of his sanity, while simultaneously keeping an eye on the woods that surrounded camp jaha. lincoln didn’t believe the grounders would make a move on the skypeople anytime soon, but it would be good to be prepared if they did. supply runs were always essential, and he knew better than any of them where to find certain antidotes or game. he would came back to camp with a new animal slung over his shoulder --- providing somewhat of a meal for the skypeople. maybe being a CARETAKER would allow him to get on their good side.
fortunately, he had never run into any HOSTILE grounders, looking to pick a fight. but when lincoln spotted a figure up ahead, he guessed that his LUCK had finally run out. he was armed, obviously, but he wasn’t quite in the mood to injure one of his own. if they were travelling in a group, then he didn’t like the sound of those odds. his act would surely be viewed as a BETRAYAL. he was no longer welcome with the grounders. if they came across him, there was no reason for them not to KILL him.
ready to make his escape, lincoln paused to watch for a moment, his careful gaze searching for any sign of movement. the person was --- limping? no, they were moving rather slowly, dragging along. they were ALONE. careful to stay hidden, lincoln moved closer to get a better look. if it was someone in need, he wasn’t just going to leave. they may hate him, but these people were still his FAMILY.
and then he realized it wasn’t a grounder at all. ❛ ----- CLARKE? ❜
no one had seen her since the journey back from mount weather --- yet here she was. in the flesh. alive, but NOT in the best shape. with the amount of time she had been gone, her skin should be TANNED from the sun. instead, clarke looked PALE & SICKLY, beads of sweat clinging to her forehead. upon examination, lincoln could see that she had clearly lost a lot of weight, her face almost looking sunken in nature.
he didn’t hesitate to move forward, situating himself at her side and producing a canteen. if he had to guess from her symptoms, DEHYDRATION could be one of the factors contributing to her appearance. regardless, liquids would help. he unscrewed the cap, holding the water up to her lips. ❛ DRINK THIS. when was the last time you ate? ❜
