Beauty Q&A: Maybelline New York
A few years back, Maybelline released one of the best makeup lines that they could've ever created, and I of course caught wind of it when they decided to discontinue it.
Yes, I was always curious about this Pure Foundation, or their Pure line of makeup in general and I decided to try it when it was oh so late.
For those who know  me, I normally do not like anything touching my face, let alone sitting on top of it, so I wear a tinted moisturize because of my resentment for powder foundations. However, Maybelline released a liquid foundation that wasn't exactly a liquid...but it wasn't a tinted moisturizer either (lacked SPF).
...???? Exactly. As I still have a fresh bottle of this amazing foundation, I was curious as to what else is out there like it. So, I ran into Ulta because I went in for an NYX shadow, and came out with some wonderful knowledge that got my mind going. The young lady at the Tinley Pk location for one, is a bad chick when it comes to product knowledge. I found myself searching for lash primer and ended up getting educated on what we know to be "Be-Be Creams" that have become all the beauty craze.
As these creams are a step above the tinted moisturizer, because of the amount of spf and primer that is already in it, and right below a foundation because of its hydro format and light weight, airy feel as well as application. Too Faced, Boscia and a select few carry these creams and they fly off the shelves without any issue. But on the way home, I began to ask myself...didn't Maybelline come out with something similar to this already?
And they did. They started something, that they didn't necessarily finish. SO, out of my curiosity, Â developed an email. Here is the response....
Thank you for visiting Maybelline New York on the Web.
We appreciate your comments expressing disappointment in our decision to discontinue Pure Foundation. As consumers ourselves, we understand how disappointing it can be when a favorite product or shade is no longer offered. Unfortunately, demand was not high enough for us to continue manufacturing it.
Since it is discontinued, Pure Foundation is no longer available for sale by us through our retailers. We are sorry for the frustration this has caused you.
Please try FitMe Foundation. Although this is not an exact replacement, we believe that it has some of the same remarkable qualities that you found in Pure Foundation.
We appreciate your loyalty to Maybelline New York.
The original question consisted of this:
why they discontinued the product
would they bring it back as a "Be-Be" cream (of course putting SPF and a prime agent)
I personally would like to see what top-selling, over the counter cosmetics could or would do with something that is probably one of the best ways to go these days when it comes to "natural face" or makeup application in general.
I am not "frustrated" that they decided to discontinue the product, but it had so much potential, appearing to beheaded in a great direction though...either way....share your thoughts on this. I'd love to hear!
