revlon just bitten kissable balm stain (i have it in rendezvous, lovesick, romantic, and honey) - one of my favorite products ever, the color payoff is amazing, it's very, very pigmented but you can also apply it lightly if you don't want too much color. the stain lasts for a really long time and it's sort of minty went you apply it, but it goes away after a few minutes. can be a little drying on the lips.
revlon lip butter (i have it in candy apple, tutti frutti, peach parfait, and macaroon) - another favorite, very moisturizing, some colors are more pigmented than others but you can build up the color easily if you want.
clinique chubby stick intense (i have it in chunkiest chili and curviest caramel) - expensive, but super moisturizing, and the colors are great. doesn't last on the lips for too long. apparently the ones that are not part of the "intense" line are very sheer, so if you want color, go for the "intense" ones.
benefit they're real mascara - best mascara ever. the applier is a little different, the brushes are harder than your regular one, and pretty sharp. gives amazing length and volume.
holika holika clearing bb cream - korean bb cream, very cheap, but not many colors to choose from since it was designed for fair asian skin. not too much coverage but the color blends with the skin tone without it looking too fake.
maybelline bb cream - has pink undertones and can leave the skin a bit shiny. not a lot of coverage.
l'oréal bb cream - the fairest color looks super orange on me. better coverage than the maybelline one and it has a matte finish.
kryolan dermacolor concealer - supposedly the best concealer on the planet, made for people with serious skin problems like vitiligo. the color d4 seems to work for most people, seeing as it's always the one that's sold out. waterproof. kind of expensive but supposedly lasts forever because you only need a little bit to get a good coverage. i wore it once and didn't see anything special about it, but i'll keep wearing it. maybe it's the way i apply it or something, because i'm still clumsy with makeup.
maybelline mascara (i have one by one and the falsies) - my favorite mascaras on the cheap side. they last for a long time and make the lashes look great. the one by one is my favorite because the applier doesn't let it clump at all.
tony moly tony tint - cheap korean version of benefit's famous benetint. a lot of people like it, but i thought it was crap. lol doesn't last, leaves a funny feeling on the lips, applies unevenly... eesh.
wet 'n wild lipstick (i have it in coraline) - super pigmented, lasts for a reasonable amount of time, super cheap. very good.
sephora blush (in pink flush) - this came for free in one of my orders, that's why i have it. pigmented, pretty color, but way too much glitter on it.
burberry body eau de parfum - also came as a free sample in a couple of my purchases at sephora (because lol i don't have 500 bucks to spend on a perfume), but i like it. i was never a perfume person, but this one is good and makes me feel fancy lol
asepxia powder - i just needed a compact powder and this brand makes these makeup products for acne prone skin, so i bought it. does its job.
tony moly concealer - korean. looks almost white on my skin. but it's alright.
clinique 3 steps - skin cleaning products for everyday use. i've only been using it for a few days, but i like it so far. didn't get any breakouts from it and my skin feels smoother slightly less oily.
olive oil + sugar face scrub. i sometimes use honey as a substitute, or even together with the oil. it's also a good lip scrub.
and i use any retractable black eyeliner i can find, really.
basically hair needs 3 things: to be hydrated (moisturized), to be nourished and to be repaired. if you just do one or two of these with no consistency, the effort goes down the drain. you should build a schedule based on what your hair needs the most; if it's super damaged, you might want to concentrate more on repairing, so doing that twice or three times a month; if it's more dry than anything, moisturize it more often, as much as three times a week. each hair will dictate what it needs more and what it responds best to, and a lot of factors might change that, so what works for you now might not work in two months, maybe because you colored it, or the weather changed, etc.
the first thing hair needs is water, which means moisture. the things in hair products you need to search for are semi di lino, vitamin b5/panthenol, aloe vera, distilled water.
but hair also needs oils (general lipids). you'll notice that the roots are the healthiest part of any hair, and that's because it's the part that gets the most natural oils that we produce. there is no better thing for hair than that. but the longer the hair (or curlier the hair), the harder it is for the oil to travel to the tips. which is why it's good to brush your hair when it's greasy, so get that good oil on the shaft, and use other types of oils on the length. oils also help retain the moisture that you put it earlier. a lot of the time you'll use a hair mask and your hair will look great, but only for one day. when you wake up the next morning it's all fry again; that's because the hair is not retaining the water. and since oil and water doesn't mix, applying oil on your hair after moisturizing helps to lock the water in. it's also good if you hair feels porous, rough, sucking up water and hair masks like a sponge. you can pretty much use any oil you prefer for this part, as well as shea butter and one of the best things to lock up the moisture is ceramide.
and hair also needs repair, especially if it's elastic (when you pull on a hair strand and it doesn't go back to normal, it stays stretched), breaking off. products for this part of the schedule are the ones that contain amino acids, protein, the stuff that most of the hair is composed of: keratin - but use this one with caution! too much can cause breakage!, lysine, arginine, cysteine, creatine, serine.
i like to try a bunch of things on my hair, since the top half of it is fucked up from several bad bleaching jobs. it's getting better, bit by bit. the things i use are
honey
olive oil
coconut oil
argan oil
castor oil
grapeseed oil
macadamia oil
panthenol
shea butter
glycerin
schwarzkopf sealed ends (prevents split ends)
tec italy lumina forza (when i had red hair, it boosts up the color and moisturizes it. i think they have for other hair colors as well)
keune sleek and shine - i haven't tried it yet, but the reviews that made me buy it all said it's an amazing repair mask, to use sparingly because it's so powerful.
keune hair dye - didn't damage my hair at all, one of the best dyes ever.
alfaparf hair dye - stayed with this for over a year when i had cherry red hair. lifts the color nicely, you don't need to bleach it to get a good, light, vibrant red (my natural hair looks like this and this is what i looked like with the dye)
l'oréal (majirel) hair dye - my current hair dye, i use it in the shade 7.4. didn't damage my hair either, and it doesn't fade all that much.
apple cider vinegar - seals the cuticles of the hair, which makes it look sleek, shiny, and helps maintain hair color longer as well as moisture. dilute 100 ml in 1 liter of cold water and use it as a last rinse on the hair after the shower. the smell should clear off once it's dry. if it doesn't, try doing this when you won't be going out. it's good to do it once a week.
