This eighteenth-century armorial engraving depicts three running greyhounds arranged within the shield, a reminder that the breed had long become an emblem of nobility, loyalty, elegance, and swift resolve. In British heraldic tradition, the greyhound was more than a hunting companion. It represented refinement of character as much as physical grace.

The choice of three running greyhounds is particularly striking. Rather than standing in formal poses, they are shown in full pursuit, preserving the quality that has always distinguished the breed: movement.

For centuries, the greyhound belonged not only to the history of the hunt, but also to the visual language of families who chose it to represent their identity.
