I got my curls back, and it's astounding how similar it is with my original hair two years ago. Too bad I don't have a decent photo of myself back then because I had the lowest self-esteem.

I had my hair permed at BeautyBrick which is well known for the quality of service and ambiance. Mr. Shin never disappoints! I got what I wanted: carefree hair that has a mind of its own. (1st photo) Hahaha!

After that, I asked my mom if we could pass by LandMark because I was planning to buy some basic makeup for the upcoming debut party of my HS classmate and also as an investment to start practicing the makeup skillz lol

So my mother insisted on staying loyal to Maybelline because I've been using their press powder for a while now and I don't seem to have breakouts. What a lame move, because I really regret buying their foundation seen above. (2nd photo)I don't know if it's the texture or maybe it's because the lady suggested the wrong shade for my skin tone. I swear it's so white-ish, I look like a ghost. (3rd photo) Damn! I also bought a concealer and a gel liner from them. Even gave me a freakin' loyalty card because of my purchase. Aaargh! I spent my 1K for that sht. I should've researched before buying anything!

Next time, I'll try the Revlon ColorStay because I researched and found out it's light on the skin and has a version for oily/combination skin. Or not, because foundation is just too heavy. I might opt for a BB cream or something. 

Makeup is so frustrating I don't even like it that much at all.

stracurl experience at beautybrick salon ♥

eto ang storya ng pagpapakulot ko ng buhok. :D

before ganto ang itsura ng buhok ko.

since, nakakasawa na ang mahaba at straight na buhok, nag-plan ako na magpa-curl. nakakatawa lang kasi after ilang years pa bago natuloy talaga. naunahan pa ako ng ate ko. at dahil wala akong sariling budget, hindi ako sa salon ng ate ko nagpunta. nag-google muna ako kung san mura at maganda ang digiperm. ang popular na salon ay tony and jackey kung san nagpaperm yung isang friend ko. nagpunta kami ng mama ko sa tony and jackey sm north annex para mag-inquire. at grabe, muntik lang naman akong mahimatay sa presyo. dahil rebonded ang buhok ko, mas mahal na treatment ang kelangan. curl pa lang 5K na tas additional 3k for half-rebond sa upper part kasi recommended daw yon. tas madami pang additional depende daw sa sasabihin ng stylist na kelangang treatments ng buhok. so ekis na ang tony and jackey, nagsearch ako ulit at napadaan ako sa isang forum telling na mura at maganda raw sa beautybrick salon magpaperm. may iba ding comments na hindi maganda kaya nung una hesitant ako kasi sensitive talaga yung buhok ko, pero dahil gustong-gusto ko ng maiba naman ang itsura ko, tinake ko na yung risk.

Tumawag muna ako before ako pumunta, kelangan kasi magpaschedule para hindi sayang ang pagpunta if ever na madaming costumers.

pagdating ko dun, sobrang warm ng pagwelcome ng mga staff sakin at sa iba pang dumadating na customers. sabay-sabay silang bumabati pag may papasok at lalabas ng salon.

ang pinagawa ko sa buhok ko ay stracurl, ito yung half-rebond at half-perm na recommended for rebonded hairs.

una, shinampoo muna buhok ko, pwede kang mamili kung cold/warm water yung gagamitin. tapos, chineck ni Mr. Shin yung buhok ko. si Mr. Shin ang nag-iisang stylist nung salon. hindi siya masyado marunong mag-tagalog kaya meron siya laging translator. pag check, pwede na dun tanungin kung magkano yung treatment na gagawin. ang sabi niya, since rebonded ang buhok ko, medium curls lang ang pwede. ang gusto ko sana talaga ay large curls kaso maglooloose daw agad yun sa rebonded hair. umokay na lang din ako dun since andun na nga ako.

ginupitan ng layer yung buhok ko, mga one inch lang ang binawas, tapos nirebond yung upper part. inapply muna yung unang gamot sa buhok ko tapos iniwan for more than an hour.

pagkatapos banlawan, pinlantsa using hair iron. yung rebond part umabot ng 4 hours.

after nun tsaka nilagyan ng rollers yung buhok ko at kinabit sa mala-medussang machine. kulot na yung hair after alisin sa machine pero hindi pa yun yung final.

nilagyan pa ng pangalawang gamot. binabad ng less than 30min tapos binanlawan. mga 2 hours lang tumagal yung digiperm na process.

satisfied naman akong umalis sa salon. nagbigay pa ako ng tip kasi maganda talaga ang service at accomodating lahat ng staff. may free coffee pa. :)

eto ang picture after 2 days. after 2 days pa kasi bago ko binanlawan at di ko muna shinampoo, conditioner lang.

at ngayon, mga 2 months na yung hair ko, ito na ang itsura niya.

ang masasabi ko lang, job well done para kay Mr. Shin at sa beautybrick. hanggang ngayon, maganda pa rin ang curl ng buhok ko. para lang akong araw-araw na nag-a-iron curl ng hair. sa mga may hindi nga alam na permanent curl yung pinagawa ko, kala talaga nila iron curl lang. sabi nga ni Mr. Shin, "easy styling". :D

pahabol: mas maganda sana kung may kasamang highlight kung papaperm ka. hindi lang talaga kinaya ng budget ko. kaya next time na lang. hihi. :D
