Hello~ may i ask if u have any HC for Greek Gods!WWX? I mean Hades is the obvious one...but i also like the idea of him being Hermes or Apollo or Hestia or Hephaestus or even Demeter (cuz farming) tickles me 🤭🤭🤭
Okay SO. Techincally there are lot of possibilities, but for me, there’s really only one choice: Hecate.
She’s a goddess with many associations, one of which is as a protector of the household (like other Greek gods). But she was also associated with witchcraft, spirits of the dead, and necromancy. I’m halfway asleep so I’m not sure if I remember everything correctly, but I think one of the functions she had was to protect homes from restless spirits. And she was associated liminal spaces (esp doorways and crossroads), which I find highly interesting. I just think she’s neat!
Another interesting tidbit is that she has a strong connection to dogs, and I think dogs were her primary sacrifical animal. WWX is afraid of dogs, but make of that what you will. Maybe WWX just wants all these dogs sacrificed to him. :3c
Additionally, I like that Hecate is not one of the the ‘big’ Greek gods, but a more peripheral one. That’s something that fits, too. Wei Wuxian is definitely not suitable to be a ‘mainstream’ god(dess).
So, that’s my take... I’m sure lots of other people have very different takes, though, hahahaha.
