i have a friend who kept introducing me to more of their friends, falling out with their friends, and then getting mad at me for being friends with someone who could be so hurtful and cruel to them so now THEY aren't my friend anymore, and i just feel like

So my advisor wants me to do the project following a line of research I am not familiar with at all, and I know it will be very very difficult to write a good project :)))))

But the scholarships are competitive and will always favour those whose study more "useful" things that have impact on society and this line of research is very popular right now.

It is very difficult to be a literature student who just wants to study very niche topics :)

Hello I am angry about the environment

I think the angriest Ive been this semester is when we did a quiz in class to calculate our footprint and fully 3/4 of the class said the majority of their food was local grown.

WE ARE IN NEWFOUNDLAND THE ONLY LOCAL FOOD IS POTATOES YOU FILTHY LIARS. My prof too was like, you guys are sure? where do you buy your food and they were all like “ah yes, you just so happened to collect a group of students that is collectively the entire population of students who use the farmers market I only eat potatoes and carrots and frozen chicken wings but those dont count” but I know they were all bullshitting because the farmers market only has jam and fucking potatoes and like, soap. WHY WOULD THEY LIE LIKE THIS.

I was so mad cuz they are lying to themselves thinking that they are doing good for the environment but they aren’t.  How can you just lie like that? You can get away with it in a warmer place with viable soil but like frick, theres hundreds of thousands of documents out there that will tell you you cant grow shit here so ya’ll need to fuck off with your “my strawberries and apples are all newfoundland local!” cuz theyre not. The only local foods in the supermarket are eggs and potatoes you frickin dipwads. And then they were all like “I eat beef 10 times a day and I am proud” which is 9000000% worse for the environment?? SO theyre like, I will pretend to care without compromising my social standing by possibly being associated with non-regular or non-existant beef consumption because I “buy my potatoes locally” so it evens out.
