"Elly's trying to get me!" CJ screamed with glee as he climbed back into bed with me. He huddled up under the covers. "Elly' s trying to get me. I need someone to protect me!" I smiled, swung the blankets over him and cuddled him close. "I'll always protect you." I reassured him as I pulled him near, listening to the sounds of the encroaching 8 year old. "I will always protect you." His face was lighted with excitement as he agreed, "yeah! For TWO WHOLE DAYS!" Someday he won't be so excited about that.
