Beck, 27, from Timisoara, Romania

Beck is an artist. One of a kind. A singer, guitar player, composer, text writer.

Being famous, or playing on a stage in front of thousands of people was never Beck’s plan. All she always dreamt was to help people one way or the other. She didn’t acknowledge her talent until others told her they love her music.

She and two of her friends created the video „The Evolution of Romanian Music“. It is a spontaneous, 9 minutes funny video, they made in the garden. All they used were their voices, loads of fun and a guitar. It hit one million clicks on youtube overnight.

Today, 4 years later, she is a rising musician. Plays with her band on international stages, holds concerts for charitable causes and released the first album.

How it all started

Beck first played her father’s guitar when she was six years old. The guitar was too big for her small hands but she was charmed by the sounds.

She was raised to be free

Born in a family of artists and musicians, her parents encouraged her and her siblings to live a free and authentic life, no matter what. Growing up with four brothers, Beck has learned to be independent and tougher than other girls her age.

Schooling should not interfere with your education

“I was never much of a reader, but I was always drawn to know about the great people who have changed our world”.

The thoughts of Mark Twain, that “you should not let schooling interfere with your education”, reflects also Beck’s beliefs. She joined the Faculty of Letters because she loved to write and wanted to learn to do it better. Then joined Socio - Psychology studies in her will to help people. But the rigid schooling system, and sitting for hours in a class- room to listen to theories was not nourishing her desire to create. So, soon after joining, she quit the university. With the resignation papers in her hands, she screamed with joy. She was free to be herself. Her way.

And finally..its music

She grew up surrounded by family and friends who dedicated their time to help others. Beck felt she needs to continue this legacy and decided to help people through her music.

“Sometimes, songs pour into me like waves. Then I put aside everything I am doing and write songs.”

Beck’s band plays very often for free and they make their video clips simple and down to earth. Because what they want to share is their message of love, not a pop star image. The video of one of my favorite songs I will fly, was shot in the living room of Beck’s home. No special lights, no special teams. Just home.

A job from 9-5

For Beck? No way. Her lifetime role is the one of a creator, mother, wife, daughter and sister. She will never cease being an artist and being free.

I have discussed with Beck for almost two hours. She is genuine, kind, brave and fun. She is herself and fearlessly shows it with a big smile, encouraging you to be it too. With love.

I think it's only right that I share some of my favorite thoughts she expressed:

Have the courage to acknowledge who you are and love yourself

You have a gift, talent? Use it! Don’t let it go wasted

We humans have the potential to do lot of things and that is exactly why we lose our potential to do one extraordinary thing, instead of many little ones

I’ve got to stand up for love

Health and being healthy is something we often take for granted. But it is an amazing gift: to wake in the morning, to breathe alone, to stand up and walk, to see the sun through the window, these are things not everyone can do. I was so happy when I realized how grateful I should be for my health

The hard times make everything that is good and beautiful in you, come to light

We forget to enjoy ourselves because we are too busy trying to follow the successful patterns of others. We are continuously looking for role models. When each and every one of us is one

In every human, there is a unique beauty. Each and every one of us has his unique beauty and You are the first one that has to believe there is something very special about you. You are God’s creation, so you can only be beautiful. Isn't it a bit strange to be fascinated by the creator but not his creation?

I was created to share recipes that have magical powers over the soul

Why do you fall in love overnight with a new perfume or with the gold you see in a shiny ring? Why do you choose to trade 8-10-12 hours, on every given day of your life for a sum of money you will use to buy unnecessary things that will grow old and useless?

What makes her heart sing:

People helping each other

People rising and following their dreams despite all odds

To see, feel and share love, peace, patience, kindness and forgiveness

To give all of herself to her 3 months old son

To make this world better with her music
