Cooking for Engineers II Olive and Beck

Olive arrived at Beck's apartment at exactly eight o'clock after having left her apartment just as the clock on her beside table changed to display the new hour. She walked the short distance between her door and her neighbor's and knocked lightly on the wooden door. As she waited for the man to answer the door, she rocked back and forth from foot to foot nervously, not quite sure how the night was going to go. However, when the door swung open to reveal Beck with Alexis on his back, giving her a piggy-back ride, she completely forgot about her worries of running out of things to say or broaching sensitive topics too soon. Instead she greeted the two of them warmly and stepped inside, shutting the door behind her and taking her shoes off so as not to dirty the carpetted floor. "What's up, little one?" She asked Alexis, ruffling the little girl's hair, "Nice to see you all wide awake." She then turned her attention to the dark-haired boy, "And nice seeing you, too, Beck. How'd work go tonight?"
