[Submission] Hi Re: Howon and You and Just a Lot.
I had too much stuff to write to put it in that little ask box so I hope you will forgive me for doing this long ass comment/reply/ask thing.
First, Millie, thank you thank you thank you for putting up with so much bull shit from others, whether they be Inspirits with a different opinion or if they be hater anons or whatever. You put up with a lot and you do it with style and gentility and I know I am not the only one who appreciates you.
Second, I want to say that I don’t really get this polarizing phenomenon of.. “oh Lee Howon wants to do something for himself, hare dare he, lets all hate him and call him names and all that mess.” To me, the attitude seems to be, “how dare he do something I don’t want him to do for himself, his life needs to be all about Inspirits and Infinite.”
And what I want to say to anons or anyone, Inspirits all… he did that. He did that for seven years not counting trainee time. He put his heart and soul and mind into being Hoya of Infinite.
And how I feel is, if you want someone to be mad at, be mad at circumstances, be mad at Woollim if you must. You won’t be the only person mad at the management company of Infinite and how they have bungled several things, not LEAST is letting Hoya walk out of that office.
What you have to remember is… the members of Infinite are people. And they are artists. And they have things they want to do to express themselves as artists. We all know, for example, how long Sunggyu and Woohyun both waited for a solo album apiece (And btw, wtf Woollim why are you wasting their time instead of putting another album out for each of them) But are they the only ones who wanted solo albums? Did Howon want that? Did Myungsoo? Did Howon want to act more?
My personal theory is that Howon wanted to do a solo album or at least have some solo songs. He wanted to write songs for the albums and we know this, and how he had to hide the fact he wrote songs to get one on the album. He wanted to do more things, and Woollim for whatever reason, would not agree to let him do those things. After a lot of back and forth, and possibly thinking he was hurting Inspirits and Infinite by holding them back from moving forth, he gave up.
It’s just a theory and we probably won’t know all the facts.
What I do know, as if I could see inside Lee Howon’s mind, is that he didn’t do this on a whim or without thought or care or consideration. So if you’re thinking or feeling like (Generic you) he just sort of dumped Infinite so he could go his own way… you’re making a mistake. I feel like he -got- dumped, when he couldn’t see eye to eye with management.
Another thing… Howon himself said he has weak ankles. We also know he had to sit out for months and he himself said that was hell. I know he posted some free style stuff, but free styling a bit, is NOT the same as doing Infinite’s very difficult choreo several times a day or week as he would be doing with Infinite. Infinite sometimes performed several times on the same day, remember.
There’s a lot of factors going on here… and I feel it’s unfair and a bit selfish to be going “well he should be acting like I want him to act.” Who died and made you King or Queen?
And realistically, and I’ve said that on my own blog… name recognition is not a thing that lasts forever. If I said the name of some old artists from the 70’s or even 80’s say, would you know who the heck they are?
He’s only going to be Lee Howon (who used to be in INFINITE) for a finite length of time. If he wants a good music producer, a good management company, he has to put himself out there now. It’s not really something he has the choice about. He has to do it now or his opportunity may be gone. He’s taking a big risk, understand that.
