Hi sometimes I will meet a wasp or a bee (or one will fly into my room) and it will seem to be following me, like flying slightly from side to side in the air a foot or so in front of me as I back up away from it. I've always interpreted this as agressive, that they are chasing me away, and it is quite frightening. But I realised that maybe I'm totally misreading this behaviour? I'm in England if it makes a difference?
If they’re just alone inside your house there’s really no reason for them to be defensive unless you’re being aggressive at it. If a wasp were flying around me like this I’d just assume it was curiously checking me out. It’s okay to just walk away slowly. Don’t swat at it or try to corner it. Although tbh I’ve just sort of gently waved a wasp out an open door or window to show them the way out and it was fine. They really don’t want to or have a reason to sting you unless you’re threatening their nest which is pretty unlikely inside your home.
