I'll have probably 3-5 background choices, which will include the MC as a person and some facts about how their life was before being turned.
E.g. Imagine some noble background or some underground background, an MC with a successful life who got lost somehow or an MC who was always self destructive.
One thing will be set, and that's that MCs life took a turn ... into a bad direction in the recent time frame. One moment that turned MCs life upside down.
That's also when your Ex broke up and you met your bestie...
