Brought mum to Causeway Point to shop and dine. We went upstairs to Food Republic food court to have our early dinner. I used to buy the beef noodles 🍜 here for mum but alas, the old stall is gone and in its place is Ah Chew Beef Noodles. Ordered a bowl of Beef Noodles Soup 🐄🍜 (牛肉面汤) and add a portion of tendons. Instead of the usual yellow noodles, mum requested for thick rice vermicelli to soak up the flavourful dark brown soup.
Already decided on what I wanted to eat so I made a beeline to Washoku Goen. Ordered their value for money Chicken Katsu Curry Rice 🍛 (炸鸡排咖喱饭). The whole thing came on one very big plate. A substantial piece of fried chicken cutlet sat on top of fluffy white rice and a pool of curry gravy occupied the other half of the plate. The chicken is well marinated and crispy without being dry. The thick curry 🍛 is aromatic with hint of sweetness as I don’t like too sweet curry. The only complaint is it came with just a miserable cube of potato 🥔 and nothing else. I was expecting more potatoes and carrots with the curry.
