Beef Cottage Pie is a comforting and hearty dish made with minced beef, vegetables, and topped with creamy mashed potatoes. It's a perfect meal for cozy family dinners or gatherings.
Ingredients: 500g minced beef. 1 onion, finely chopped. 2 carrots, diced. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 2 tbsp tomato paste. 400ml beef stock. 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce. 1 tsp dried thyme. Salt and pepper to taste. 750g potatoes, peeled and chopped. 50g butter. 50ml milk. 100g grated cheddar cheese.
Instructions: Preheat the oven to 180C 350F. In a large skillet, cook minced beef until browned. Add onion, carrots, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are softened. Stir in tomato paste, beef stock, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15-20 minutes until the mixture thickens. Meanwhile, boil potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with butter and milk until smooth. Transfer the beef mixture into a baking dish. Spread mashed potatoes evenly on top. Sprinkle grated cheddar cheese over the mashed potatoes. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown. Serve hot and enjoy!
