Today's Celtic character of the day is Beefix from Asterix who is a chief of the Nervii tribe (Belgae) (ancient Celt)*. He is from the Roman province of Gallia Belgica, specifically modern day central Belgium.

*Note: Although the Belgae are thought to have spoken a Celtic language and had many cultural similarities to other tribes of Gaul, they also had strong Germanic ties. Because of this, ancient Belgaes are often considered to be of both Celtic and Germanic origin.
