Like all good architects they measure first... using their bodies & hooking arms. This act of bee circus is called, “Festooning.” #TeamBuilding🐝 to the max. On humans, the tip of your index finger typically measures an inch & from the tip of the wrist to your elbow is 12” (try measuring now). Bees also have some measurement of their bodies when stretched (a bee “measuring tape” if you will), & calculate the distance (& possibly more) to build honeycomb by reaching across an un-combed space.
