My need to know.
What is it with restaurants not listing prices on the menu? I usually don't have a few extra hundred dollars burning a hole in my pocket. I went out with the wife to eat. The specials board had all these different beers, ("They look interesting" said my wife. I get uneasy when she says that.) But no prices. They're listed as specials so I'm sure there affordable. Let's jump ahead to when we got the bill. Holy Cow! I had to rip an elderly ladies oxygen tubes from her to take a couple hits off it. Our beers cost more than our food. I will never fall for that trick again. We went back to that restaurant again recently. Same board, no prices. The waiter got pissy with us for asking the prices of a few items. My wife actually said let's leave. We're not putting up with his attitude. So we left. There are many mysteries in life. How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop? Does Dora the Explorer have any adult supervision? What is Victorias Secret? I have some idea. But I'm not sure? Next time I visit an establishment with no prices on the menu I'm just gonna order, but since you have no prices listed, everything must have some wiggle room. (That New York Strip you want 15 dollars for? I figured 10 would do it. Thanks for being so flexible. "I just go the car out of the garage." ) I can't wait to see the waiters face? Go ahead and stagger me when I get my check? I'll surprise you with what I have on me. Any responsible person doesn't purchase an item without knowing the cost? Hey, by the way, I'm not for quitting smoking til after you get cancer or putting on a seatbelt til after a head-on collision. I might take things easy. I'm just not easy with money being taken from me. My wife enjoys trying different beers so I might encourage her adventurous side if I know how steep the charge is? (I tell her you can get just a much of a buzz on Pabst Blue Ribbon. She just rolls her eyes and says it's not about the buzz goof, it's about the experience.) So show me the prices. As for me, I'll have the "Natual Light Special! By the way, I look best in "Natural Light" too!
