Real talk

If someone tries putting you in your “place” by inaccurately comparing you to miscellaneous and sundry over-the-top awful bastards in their life at the drop of an especially histrionic hat–like if they do this after you go “oh damn, you’re right, my bad” for real, like if you make a PROPER apology but they flounce and kvetch and carry on and carry on and accuse you of not meaning it and draw even MORE unkind and inaccurate comparisons

THEY are the problem

At best you’re dealing with someone who’s refused to even bother making a slight effort at reining in emotional reactions

(Yes this is hard I should know but I do it because I know what harm can be done by running one’s mouth in the throes of feelzorz)

At worst they’ve become their own nightmare because they mistakenly believe it makes them stronger and correct to act the douche

Drop them and ignore their whinging and accusations of abandonment

You deserve better than to be the hockey puck for some snivelling control freak who can’t be assed to employ the fucking golden rule.
