been redesigning my kayne for a while and i wonder if i should make his skin more sickly looking... i have a headcanon that he possesses bodies (because of how nyarlathotep is described as having a "thousand forms" and being "faceless"), and ive been trying to make this one look more corpse-like? originally i made him more unassuming and "normal" so he could gain the trust of people better, but i wanted to play with the idea that as the story progresses he struggles to maintain the body and it looks more and more uncanny... like its dying. hes also able to contort the features more... idk. to me the concept makes all the different kayne designs true and real, too

i think music in malevolent is like... a sign of the king. with arthur playing the piano, john recognizing the song, kellin singing, collin hearing music, kayne playing the piano, uncle, the music box. its in someway connected to madness ("you call it madness i call it love") which . the king can drive people mad... thats one of his things
