With the day marking the Rebirth of the sun, the celestial body also greets Fondue on her birthday!

Did I want to draw her in pretty clothes and jewelry? Yes, because she's my Shayla and deserves nice clothes for her birthday! She also has a strange glowing visitor to wish her well, wonder who sent the little Scarub...

I honestly like this much more as her royal / normal attire than her regular cream saree, matches her arena attire more than that one imo!

Change Requires Abundance Chapter 21 Spoiler: Sunrise on the Horizon

I finally figured out how to put images on AO3 so if you read the chapter, this looks familiar!

By the gods above, i was so excited to get that posted because the slow burn was getting to me by chapter 11!

I've already got one of the two drawings for Chapter 22 drawn, so look forward to two drawings in that one!

Writing and drawing for Change Requires Abundance has really helped me with my confidence in my drawing and writing style, and I look forward to doing more for these two that are constantly rotating in my microwave brain.

Its cringe moment times with Beetle so, woe be my cookiesona upon ye!

He's a cookie made of pure Malachite and retains the aspects of a blister beetle, he is not safe to eat nor really touch. Spiritually inclined he looks to the arcane nature of all things crystal and tarot for information and knowledge into the supernatural.

Cautious of touch he wears gloves to shield others from leeching the copper in his dough and falling ill. Initially mistaken for a crystal cricket he travels with @burningcheese-merchant 's Ghost Choco Cookie and the Heir trio. He's rather fond of tea and sunny mornings though his exposure to the sun and water is limited to protect his dough from growing dull in color and luster.

He's also rather fond of Longjing Tea Cookie and his proclivity towards simpler things. An optimist that looks to the arcane for answers with Longjing's chronic illness that runs in his family. Not to solve it for him but to help how he can when the man is open to help.

hello! i saw your ask to @burningcheese-merchant where you drew the saja beasts and i wanted to let you know that i’m obsessed with their designs. especially burning spice

I've been obsessed with Burning Spice, so of course, I put more effort into making sure he looked good! Is my bias showing?

Funnily enough, I think that is the first time I put actual effort into drawing SM and MF, it might be clear with their designs idk.

Anyways, if I ever draw the saja beast or KPDH Cookies, just know Merchant is to blame for activating those neurons in the first place.

Of course, Abby is my bias, so have some more of Spicy Saja since you like him so much. I know the Saja Boys' final outfits are that of Jeoseung Saja, but seeing as spice is placed Indian inspiration, I based his clothes (what little he has) off of the Hindu god Yama.

I am so sorry for not answering this earlier Sesame! Have a rendering of the Good Doctor CheeserBird as compensation!

Lowkey the good Doctor is my favorite to write for because I like to think all of the Cheezbirds have some kind of don't give a shit attitude towards Burning Spice, and they had to deal with his shit the most when he couldn't heal with the Soul Jam.

They are both exhausted and as you can tell the Doctor and Spice can have quite short fuses for eachother. The doctor even more so after delivering the behemoth that was Baby Fondue!

Baby Fondue was as tall as the good doctor when she was born so they had their work cut out lol!

Can Blueberry Swirl shoot people to heal them is that what this means bc I think that'd be really funny

That is exactly correct 🫵

He's the group healer, since he was trained in the magic of healing by Pure Vanilla (And Nib is not apart of the party since she is still a minor. No child soldiers here)

But yeah Swirl's method of healing is much more extreme visually but is useful when he is far from his allies. Nearly scared the soul out of Miracle when he leveled the barrel at his chest and fired. But hey no more pain atleast!

The shells are inherently useless in the hands of someone else, they cant be loaded into a different gun and when not enchanted, will still hurt but they are on par with a BB gun shot.

They can either heal his allies or do remarkably damage to his enemies based on his intentions for the shot with loading, so he's got a good mental note of whats in the chamber at all times.

So his biggest accomplishments at the moment as a healer and a ranged damage dealer when it comes to his allies.

Also yes he has a country accent, your other observation is correct, the twang is real and it confuses both Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla where it came from.

HOW DID CONFIDENT SPICE WARRIOR AND ELEGANT BUG LADY MEET ₍₍⚞(˶˃ ꒳ ˂˶)⚟⁾⁾

Oh I love Day in your style!! And the Itty bitty Fondue can take my possession!

They've known eachother since childhood, it was bound to happen since their parents know eachother and are mending friendships (slowly but surely) the ancients and the beasts have a biyearly meeting to check on eachother and their nations (and clotted cream is there but this isn't about him). Since Daylily and Fondue are heirs to their parents they attended as well! They were friendly as kids, not the closest since they're personalities are so different but Fondue liked hearing Daylily talk about her bugs and liked being able to hold them cause they looked cool. Their furthering of their relationship was actually pretty simple: A Marriage Arrangement!

Fondue wanted an arranged marriage at around fifteen years old, something she wouldn't have to stress over while training. Daylily took the deal that Burning Spice approached her father about, simple, get it over with, both girls had the final say, could break it off if they didn't want to anymore. They knew they could be friends, so even if they never felt love for the other as partners, they could still coexist happily.

They both have deeper reasonings for choosing to be become fiances but I'd like to explore that in actual writings!

I've spoiled their getting closer but once I do start writing their story with my other Beast Kin, they honestly talk more like friendly acquaintances and aren't overly close initially. BUT I WILL DRAW THE WIVES, I LOVE MY SHAYLAS AND THEY ARE THE WIVES! 💜🧡

Also it was a relief that Daylily took the proposal for Burning Spice because the other Beast Kin are not even close to his second choice to approach.
