I’ll be answering forthe two blogs I’m following! I have seen your Yellow blog, but I don’t really have any ties to the manga’s canon/timeline- that’s why I haven’t followed it (or at least- I didn’t see a specific game-verse, which I’m sorry if I missed out).

The first thing that comes to my mind has to do with Hayato! I have some HCs about the Johto League, which basically makes that place not the most ideal place to work at- as in the gym leaders don’t really get along well at all (the “friendship” image they sell is nothing more than a marketing tool). Morty is the one who contributes to the hostile/toxic environment at work, so I’m 100% down for having these two butting heads/throwing insults/ready to thROW FISTS @ each other. Lance is mostly there to just ensure no one is going to end up dead. It’s a very dysfunctional League.

How about something with Bede? It’s funny to think how by the time SwSh happens, Brendan and Barry are basically full grown adults. So, how about something with Bede traveling to Johto and getting a taste of the battle frontier (where Barry is working at as a battle brain)? Or perhaps, he happens to stumble upon Brendan - who’s fully in charge of his champion duties in Hoenn?

Lastly, I think this would be more of a brief interaction- lighthearted thread. But how about something involving Kahili and Hayato’s shared interest for flying types? Either he has traveled to Alola, or she is in Johto for whatever reason!

Pokemon headcanons!

🍼 : Are there any Pokémon your character has difficulty handling? Are there any they find easiest to raise?

He doesn’t stray too far from dark types really, but he does have difficulty with dragon types. He just doesn’t have much experience with them, though he would die to have a Deino tbh And if you couldn’t guess it, Piers of course finds dark types the easiest to raise despite what others might say about the type!

Yellow healed him up after he RAMPAGED through Team Rocket’s hideout. This isn’t out of the norm. Red gets hurt so often and he very much so avoids getting recouped by Yellow because he’s a little embarrassed it keeps happening. If he was ever in serious danger he’d ask for her help.

His Pikachu’s quite taken with her Pikachu (And this was before he actually left for Silver). Ethan/Gold has the egg from that escapade. When Red sends her messages he always includes pictures of Pikachu for her to let her know their both okay.

He apologizes to Yellow after he comes back from Mt. Silver but doesn’t elaborate on his stay up the mountain. He purposefully keeps it from her because he doesn’t want her interested in the place.

Red’s confessed to Yellow he’s worried about getting sick again like he was as a kid, specifically to try and get her help if that ever happened again. He’s not sure what he’d lose if he got sick again.

hayato

Hayato is young but Red’s behavior signals him as an elder. He’ll bow to him upon greeting and sit with him despite the fact he absolutely sweeped with Charizard. 

Charizard really enjoys flying with Pidgeot- Red spent some time agility training with Hayato around Sprout Tower. It’s a ton of fun and they raced a few times.

Hayato isn’t a first contact for him but he still has his number in case he has to get messages around to everyone. Not to mention if he sees new flying types he’ll take a picture of them. 

He suggests Hayato travel to Alola and check out the different birds there because every single one of them is up Hayato’s alley.

      Hardest for him has been raising Silla, Giga and Torque, mainly since they have quite a different temperament than the dragons he is used to working with. All three were very laid back at first when it came to training, and did not respond well to Raihan’s usual training tactics--he ended up having to take a slower approach with the three, which also gave him the chance to change it a bit with his dragons to add in more affection and pets.      Dragons, of course, are the easiest for him to work with. Working with ones like Deino and Dreepy were a sudden shift but he’s able to adapt being the Dragon Tamer of Galar. Dura was actually the easiest but that’s because he just grew up beside the Duraludon.
