"The shadowless, white urban symmetries and the green arboreal chaos dissolve into the smooth grisaille of penultimate entropy. Nobody has a GPS. Clouds are everywhere and the shadows are minimal; the surfaces are raw. One imagines the townships of Soviet Siberia looking something like this, and colour is not required, nor at this moment in the South. Before the invasion of pictures, billboards and plastic, it is a colourless, low contrast world, populated by human beings with no common sense of direction, drifting they exude exhaustion, lostness, boredom and doom. They make Edward Hopper look like Norman Rockwell. They make Robert Frank look picturesque."
