The Ink Demonth 2024 - Day 13. Bow

When I came up with this theme, I had Bendy's bow tie in mind. When I started thinking about my drawing in the event, what I had in mind was Sammy bowing down, a bit like on one of my first year Ink Demonths. And then I suddenly remembered that a violin bow is also a bow. It so happens that an entire chapter of my prequel to SATIM, i.e. "Before Henry", is devoted to the violin and the bow (and more specifically to breaking it). I once gave you one page of this - it shows what happens a moment later than the scene shown here. In a nutshell. Proto-Sammy had learned to play the violin, so he decided to go to the second floor and show off his playing to the Ink Demon. Searcher couple Janice and Lou thought it would be fun to tease "that weirdo in pants" a bit, a fight broke out, and then Janice broke Sammy's bow. And if there is something that the Ink Demon really loved - it was instruments and the music they played (which was the only reason why proto-Sammy survived all his encounters with him), so it's easy to guess that Bendy wasn't thrilled with this act… And here we come back to page that I once shared with you. Ta-dah!

I really like this picture. I wanted to make it into something like a cover or a poster advertising the chapter. I made a few mistakes (e.g. anatomical ones), and since I draw and then take photos, I can't correct them in the computer - but whatever, it still turned out great.

The Ink Demonth 2024 - Day 12. Copy

Another picture with Alice and her Minions. 'Cause I simply love her, them and the thread I came up with for them all in SATIM. This is one of my favourites.

This situation is absolutely canonical - and took place before Henry arrived at the Workshop, specifically after Bendy crippled Alice, but before he disappeared into the Ink Machine. And now some VERY LONG-TIME spoilers for SATIM fans (before I post strips about this, you probably forget - or there may not be room to explain it in the regular story - so go ahead and read). Well, in these times, Alice, when Bendy went hunting on the lower levels, sneaked to the Ink Machine level and printed more members of the Butcher Gang. However, the models designed by Joey and Co were so imperfect that despite numerous attempts at corrections, they didn't turn out the best, so Alice at some point decided that she would repair them after printing. Ta-dah. The situation in the picture above.

And since I literally had nothing to do at work today, I decided on a bonus, which is the canonical SATIM explanation of why Strikers have their mouths sewn.

Yes. Without the front mouths sewn, these poor things would have bled out ink within moments of being born. I was planning this for a very shocking strip, but it probably won't appear until around season 4, so in about a hundred years (at the current rate)… so you have it on the Ink Demonth now. Ta-dah!

The Ink Demonth 2024 - Day 1. Nostalgia

Remember when I gave you Inside Out but in Sammy's head? It was last year Ink Demonth. Now I'm truly in love in Inside Out 2, so when I saw this theme...

Little spoiler for SATIM's fans but not too big. It's "Before Henry" reference :)

Hi everyone. No question today, but a request: I feel quite sad and tired of the world, can I have a bit of sweetness or tenderness to cheer me up, please?

Sorry I won't draw anything SPECIALLY to cheer you up, but I'm already late with the things I was supposed to do... But instead I'll give you two pages from "Before Henry" showing probably the sweetest and nicest thing Bendy has done for protoSammy (well, except he didn't kill or eat him).

First I wanted to put some frames with Bendy and Sammy's kids here, but they're all bittersweet and pretty sad in some way (or makes spoilers too much), so I quit.

The excerpt is the first two pages of Chapter 8 "Dress Up" and shows the end of protoSammy's second meeting with Bendy (when protoSammy was not yet a fanatic who worshiped him, but only a fanatic who loved instruments and music as such - and that's why he deserved to be spared in Bendy's eyes).

PS. Sorry for my English in this comic. It was drawn a year and a half ago - and then my English was at a much lower level.

Speaking of Alice... I'd love to know what you think of her and if you get along... Or not, obviously?

Sammy: Do you want to talk about that ugly cold bitch? I don't like her. With reciprocity. I never missed an opportunity to do some pranks towards her, though that was in my youth. Now I'm a mature, serious prophet, I don't make such nonsense... generally.

Why did Sammy say he wasn't the "real" Samuel Lawrence?

This is a story spoiler, but mostly for "Before Henry", so I guess I can tell you...

Because Bendy told him something that Sammy interpreted as "you're probably not Sammy Lawrence".

Hey ~ I was wondering... And yes, again! I really like Sammy. I love his twisted way of looking at things, I love his relationship with Jack, I love how he pursues Bendy everywhere with a crazy love, I love his silliness, his enthusiasm, his fervor and even his quiet optimism ( you have to want it to keep the faith despite everything). But I must admit that the cruelty he sometimes shows surprises me. Where does it come from? Was the "living" Sammy Lawrence? Is he imitating Bendy? Did it come to him during his transformation into an ink person?

Sammy: Silliness?... What silliness?

Well... I'd have to make spoiler again, 'cause Sammy's entire transformation from the upbeat, freshly awakened Searcher to the current ax-wielding madman is featured in the "Before Henry" comic. Let me put it this: the inky life wasn't easy for Sammy. And he learned a few important rules very quickly, which were:

a) you can only count on yourself;

b) if you are still alive it's only 'cause the Ink Demon has shown mercy to you, don't think it's a matter of your cleverness, dexterity or strength;

c) no one else will show you mercy, NO ONE;

d) no one will help you, 'cause no one cares about your fate (except Brody - but he is annoying; later there are a little more exceptions);

d) (verified over time) others completely don't understand what is being said to them, they are irritating, annoying and it's better not allowed them to approach to you (with a few exceptions);

e) (verified over time) ax is a very helpful tool with "others".

Sammy is just an introvert. Personally, I also suspect a mild autism spectrum, but I'm not sure if it's a legacy of his human form, or if he has already got it since become inky.
