kavinsky stopped. stopped breathing, stopped fighting. his eyes were burning from staring into the flames for too long, his back aching from falling. he knew. and he had known about his plan. matthew was safe with his friends, kavinsky’s plan forgotten and foiled. this could have been his final show. this could have been his death. the final coup. he had already leapt into the burning nothing of his fiery dreams —and there he was. the one who caused this brutal mess; ronan lynch who was grabbing for his hand, pulled him back and away from the created hell.  (  “what’s here, k? nothing! no one!”;  “just us.” ;  “ i know.“ ) and he had known when kavinsky was about to fall.

first of all: kavinsky was a dreamer.

second: kavinsky wanted to have contact with him because of that.

third: kavinsky killed his own father.

fourth: kavinsky was so high he didn’t even care.

what could you possibly expect from someone like ronan lynch, when you show him such a place; a place that’s fenced by a proudly grown, but now all dried up hedge. that is starring a creature being half of an alligator, a snake and/or a lion — also a man your rich kid high school friend called his ‘ begetter ‘ like it’s nothing. kavinsky only yawns and looks up to the stars. it’s not the drugs what is making him look so unaffected — but the simple fact that this is an almost ordinary situation to the boy with the hollow eyes. “ tried that shit before, old man. “, he suddenly answers ronan’s question, while his eyes are still stuck in the stars. “ wasn’t really my thing. sorry this party sucks, buttercup. but i actually thought you already knew about all this . . . i’m not even a real fan of surprisings. wanna have a drink or something ? “ kavinsky is looking down on him now, eyeing his guest with keen interest before he takes a seat beside him, long legs stretched out towards the pool. he’s watching his father’s hair now, how it’s floating around his crashed and shattered skull, sea weed on this lifeless corral. “ a toast to our sleeping mothers and stone-dead fathers, shithead. happy birthday to me ! “ and he gulps down the rest of the vodka and makes a face, showing his teeth to the beast ( s )  in the water.
