This Isn’t Over
Landon was moving through the forest on a rather grim feeling morning. He appeared on a branch just outside of Evermoore. The man was dressed in much darker clothes, as if not to be seen. He had been following a few patrol guards that were conversing on a murder inside of the castle walls. His mind was not settled with simply hearing of a murder, he needed to do his own sort of investigations.
As the guards passed the one side of the walls, Landon slid down the tree, running quickly at the wall and up it, drawing an arrow on the way to boost himself the rest of the way up the wall. At the top, he landed with as quiet as feet as a cat. He jumped immediately from the wall and ran along the tops of the houses towards the infirmary, using the fog to cover much of his tracks as he stopped atop a building across the way. He used the top of the chimney to almost shield him from anyone who may have been scanning the roof tops.
He saw his cousins, exiting from the building with sorrow riddling their faces. He squinted the best he could to try and get a closer look as they walked off towards the keep. He would take his time to almost move from house to house. He knew that should he be found, he would not be let into the room, nor allowed around it, but for his own curiosity, he needed to see the body, know what to look for.
Finally, he reached the infirmary as he dropped down on the back side, picking a lock and entering the room. As he entered, he did a quick scan of the room, noting the number of nurses and doctors. He made his way meticulously into the room of the murder victim, noticing the autopsy that was already performed by his cousin. He studied the corpse carefully, examining her nails, her hair, everything to down to what color of lipstick she may or may not have had on. He made mental notes as he heard a few doors opening, a nurse would enter the room and remove the body, moving it out of the room without noticing Landon, whom had placed himself in the rafters, holding onto the structured beams to keep himself obscured from her vision. He had the information he needed, he made his escape rather quick, leaving little to no trail, aside from a soft left-winged feather from a turkey that he would have placed in front of the keep entrance prior to his appearance across from the infirmary.
He took the information he had collected and headed back to the forest, he knew from the looks of it that this would not be the only death that would become of the Evermoore estate, but he wanted it stopped before anything more could have become of this.
