Sunny's eyes only really turn red when he's angry or the glitch is really prevelent, most of the time they are white.

Moony on the other hand has bright baby blue eyes! They also light up like night lights in the dark when he is powered on!

However I can say this.

They do find out parts- maybe more?

Sun wants to throw Star's father into a Volcano.

I don't know if moon will ever find out, seeing as he can't physically see sun, maybe if the mirror thing happens and he's really paying attention or he's told. But if he were to find out he'd be very worried about him. Seeing as sun has white eyes. He'd want to know what exactly happened to make this malfunction appear- as well as other malfunctions that have been happening. It's another question added to the stack of questions he has, like-

Why is sun being near hostile when it comes to Star's safety?

Why is their systems acting so buggy?

And how did Star's dad know to put a magnet on their back to fry them?

So many questions, so little time.

Nope! Maybe someone else will notice? Or maybe he'll see it in a mirror, but if Sun ever notices it, he won't recognize himself. Just like how he doesn't understand the burning rage that's been filling his core. He's supposed to be kind. He's supposed to be good.
