With our first episode posted we just wanted to share with you a glimpse into ye-olde motorsport history. The cool little hotrod you see above is a Panhard-Levassour powered by a Daimler licensed engine. The manufacturer participated in what is considered the then first ever official race from Paris to Rouen in 1894, with one of the Panhard's that day completing the race in 4th position, their best finish that race. This little speed wagon could also be clocked in between 10-12 mph, making it quite the wild ride.

Listen to this episode from Behind the Formula on Spotify. In this episode we explore grand prix racing during the 1940s and the ways in which World War Two helped shape (and helps explain) the 1950 season of Formula One. Starting where we left off last episode, we cover the wartime exploits of teams and drivers as well as the unofficial racing seasons that followed. Along the way we take a slight tangent to rant about movie tropes and make fun of spy ring names.Music: Synth Kid, Title: "Devotion", https://synthkid.bandcamp.com/album/elsewhere
Listen to this episode from Behind the Formula on Spotify. Come for the race review, stay for the bad puns and hectic retelling of mundane life events. In this episode we discuss the British GP, covering everything from our feelings about sprint racing and new car design to that chaotic first lap and less than stellar pit stops.Music: Synth Kid, Title: "Devotion", https://synthkid.bandcamp.com/album/elsewhere
Bad puns, un-iconic duos, and blue suede...
