Chilli, cauliflower and TV. And more TV...
After making a cup of tea I sit in front of the tv and settle in for a whole day of Being Liverpool. I'm not sure those that read this blog really care for such a show but I'm glad i watched it, if only to see three of the South American players drinking El Mate. I just thought it was a tourist thing when I went there! Having been persuaded, or rather forced, off the sofa to go get showered i tenderly get in to the shower and take extra care cleaning due to the unseen but really painful issues I'm having with my right side and shoulder in particular. I get showered, try to make myself look presentable for those that are to see my via the beauty of FaceTime. It was the most enjoyable hour I've spent for ages. If my insides ached yesterday (and fucking well do so today but physically instead!) they were yearning to be filled up by home cooked food (fish please) and to be laid upon with a restful head. Having been buoyed by the sight of distant smiles i head out to get that can opener. While doing so i also head to food town to get a cauliflower to do a soup tomorrow or the weekend and some pitta bread to use for dipping in the chilli to fill me up. I head home handling the shopping gingerly due to my stupid injury and start to cook with the help of my new stock pot and various ingredients. It starts to make me feel normal just to smell the familiar recipe being cooked and making unnecessary mess in the kitchen. While I smell the chilli cooking i inhale quite deep and get a hit of heat go straight up my nostril to make me sneeze again. The pain that goes through my back and shoulder area is actually quite debilitating and stops me in my tracks. I'm thinking if this doesn't ease by the weekend I may need to head to the doctors. Do not want to do that in the slightest. After cooking the chilli i head to the sofa to devour my bowl with the aid of some sour cream and a spot of cheese and pita bread by my side. I the start watching this show I've been introduced to on IFC called Portlandia and go on a marathon spree of 6 episodes. It is really quite odd but funny nonetheless. I think I may well be far more of a slave than I realise having watched this show now! But they did have a special guest slot from Eddie Vedder so what more could I want?! Text Soph a photo of her gift (a large tub of chilli) to thank for all her help recently. Just too kind really. I start to lag and decide its best I go to bed. Work tomorrow which is proper crap. Now off to sort out and iron some work clothes, need to get to bed and rest up. I'm hoping my shoulder don't seize up while I sleep as I may need to get some help to get up! Anyway, first day of 2013 today. Here's to a really happy and loving one.
