Hey quick question
so i know that some people don't like it when people refer to them as "sir" or "ma'am", but i was raised by a southern mom and she taught me to refer to everyone politely with sir/ma'am. My question then is are there any neutral terms that could be used politely to refer to people?
Is Political Correctness The Correct Way To Deal With Racism?
In the past few decades, a ubiquitous phenomenon has spread through the western world to counter racism, sexism, and inequality. This is very prevalent in liberal westerners, but the conservatives despise this action accusing it of being no help to society. They argue that what are a bunch of words going to do by hurting people. In a way they are right, hence I am going to discuss what is political correctness, and does its advantages out weigh its disadvantages. If no then is there any alternative?
Political correctness is an extraordinary and admirable achievement of our age. It began due to the insecurity of the minority in a particular society after being oppressed by the majority (or those in power). Thus to secure the hearts of the minorities; leaders came up with this idea: political correctness. It basically involves the use of euphemistic language, or discouragement of any type term, phrase, or syntax that offends a particular group.
Moreover, the main advantage of political correctness is people of privileged groups get to know about their life being blessed, because of their colour, creed, gender, and ethnicity. This makes them introspect their thoughts, life and action. In some cases, people understand the misery of others and become humble with guilt.
However, this is a two-way street you can be humble by this guilt, but that happens in some cases. Thus most people become envious because of people telling them to speak or not speak a specific word. This makes them inhibited every time someone corrects them and complain about how this is oppressing them. This is, without a doubt, a baffling claim, but too many people are convinced to ignore this. So is there a door outside of this dichotomy that might lead to peace?
Ironically it’s a very simple solution for this subtle problem- just be polite. Politeness is like political correctness(avoidance of offending someone). However, politeness is more like a suggestion than a discouragement. People would think it wouldn’t do anything but I would like to argue that it would do wonders. The people who hate political correctness say that they have are made of felt guilty in what they think, but politeness focuses more on action than thought. Moreover, politeness focuses on being nice to everyone not just a group of people. And that the claim that political correctness is forced on people, therefore politeness comes from someone who does a thing out of their own will and it could lead to them feeling better about themselves than guilt.Like take the example of taxation and charity; one feels like a theft the other the other is out of free will.
I hope you get my message and perspective; my aim was not to offend anyone I was just expressing a fathom that occurred to me.
#Girl please. Me holding the door for you was not an #invitation. My #mamaraisedmeright. #you were carrying a #baby and a #diaperbag. #Please don't take #beingpolite and a #gentleman as I want you. #lol I am #happilymarried. (at SWP (south west Philly))

This is a Letter to All You Haters (Who Drink Craft Beer and Think Their S*** Doesn't Stink)
So, I know that there is a massive crew of people out there who are Craft Beer Masters, they know everything about the subject and have dedicated copious amounts of free time and passion to the craft. Having said that, there are a very large number of people who may have never even heard of this term “craft,” and may not even know what the definition of “Craft Beer” is. The beauty of the…

Polite
I was standing at my car across the parking lot and I heard someone sneeze. I told them "bless you" from a distance and they said thank you from a distance. This is how people should make friends.
