hey could y’all maybe... express your frustration with the prioritization of Bekah Cotter over the main characters on some tumblrs... without acting like she’s a horrible person? the only thing she’s done “wrong” is be pretty and have a crush on the same character as Willowdean (and she literally didn’t even know Willowdean had a crush on Bo, and even then, she’s allowed to ask him out, it’s not illegal or immoral to have a crush on the same person as someone else). she was never mean or snarky, just excited to be there.

in fact, she was really a foil to Willowdean, one who wasn’t antagonistic to her (for once in modern cinema). Bekah said her mother didn’t really understand the whole “pageant” thing, similar to how Rosie didn’t understand why Willowdean didn’t fall in line with what she wanted. both their stories involve dealing with their mothers’ expectations and how they differ from them.

again, I understand if you’re frustrated with tumblr’s fixation on a traditionally pretty, skinny girl in a story focused on the outcasts, but... maybe don’t hate the character for it?
