wild durians, if you have never seen these before, a good place to start finding them is at the inside roads of sarawak if you're lucky to spot some locals selling these gems beside the road.

A few times ive seen it being sold at belaga town, together with the usual breed of durians. On afterthought one time during my hikes up the waterfalls in the kampung, ive see some small wild unripe durians in the waterfalls. Could it be monkeys having a go at the fruit? or the heavy rain must have shaken the tree so much it fell.

The durian flesh is thin but it packs a powerful taste. If one day you are curious what this would taste like there no better place to start by searching for it in the kampung.

On a hot afternoon, if your day isn't complete, there are still alot of activities that you can still seize. One big part of it involves the river. After all it is undoubtedly the source of livelihood for many folks here in Punan Biau. 

Children would play in the sandy banks for hours, and it would be an integral part of growing up here. Learning how water flows, boating, fishing, and making lifelong friends.

3rd pic, one unexperienced (Me) trying to fish using a hook and a line, everybody is encouraging me but everybody is also telling me the fish has gone home to sleep at 5pm. And They Were Right! Good time to think about life and planning to sell the condo in the city.

Typical hot afternoon at the long house. Sometimes when we are hoping for a bit of rain, it really does come. During this time, if you're at the long house, we may be cooking up some fried tapioca, or fried fish crackers. and having an afternoon tea/coffee. Others may be occupied at the orchard, or even at their workshop fixing their perahu. (wooden boat used mainly to go about one village to another)

In another perspective, a cock would be busy chasing over the hens, herding them around or a puppy would be begging a little boy to play with.

Theres always something to do at the longhouse.
