to be perfectly honest, blighted Bellara's romance scenes (THE best romance dialogue in the game imo) always get me sooo emotional like. Elgar'nan tortures her in a very specific way, picking at her insecurities to break her spirit ("they found a part of me that doesn't want to be happy, and they fed it"). the entire time Rook is stuck in the Fade prison (days... weeks...), she has to confront the worst parts of herself and the insistence that no one is coming for her. that she is abandoned and forgotten.

and Rook is the thing that keeps her going. when she has nothing else to count on, the last thread that binds her to hope is imagining Rook - Rook and Cyrian, the two most important people in her life - telling her to hold on. can you imagine what it's like, to be continuously pushed to your lowest, but still choose to cling to hope? love so strong, stronger than the Blight, than the torture, than the worst nightmare conjured just for you?

she sounds so unbelievably happy when she's finally free. happy, and grateful. and then you can tell her, I will always find you. as if to also say, Your hope wasn't for nothing. I'm here, and I'll always be.
