We love to play and therefore also playing with our dog toys. Hence this blogpost where we show you and tell you which dog toys we own. Mum has a metal basket where she keeps collecting our toys. When we want to play, we take our toys out ourselves. Sometimes we have to put so much effort into it that the basket shifts along with it.
As you can see we really have a lot of toys! It is difficult to choose a favorite. When I (Liv) was a puppy, I also got teddy bears. I found it (especially when I changed my teeth) very nice to vanish them all the way so everything was full of plush. After I had done this a few times, mom and dad decided not to give cuddly toys anymore and went looking for toys that I can play longer with.
Rope toys are very fun to play with. We can chew well, which is good for our teeth. It is also fun to put on or lash together!
Brain games are also fun to do from time to time. Mum and dad stimulate us mentally to think about where the tasty dog treats are. When we manage to solve such a puzzle, we are rewarded with a dogtreat. This makes us happy but all that thinking is also quite tiring. Mum says that such games are also good to distract us when we are scared. Sniffing, thinking and being with our full attention in the game ensures that we pay less attention to what we are afraid of. The thinking game that we have at home (That blue toy with the yellow & orange pots) was very difficult at first, but in the meantime we have a good understanding of how it works! Maybe mom and dad should buy a new one. 🙂
Playing with balls is also fun. If mom and dad throw them away, we’ll go after it but let it usually lie down once the ball stops. As you can see in the picture, we have them in different shapes and sizes! Hunting behind a ball ensures that we develop a great speed in a short time. In order to capture it then it demands a great strength of our body, so that we sometimes make weird or funny movements for you. You can also throw balls in the water for us so that we can swim behind them. But you do not do me (Liv) fun with that.
Did you know that tennis balls are not really that good for us? The yellow sheet of the tennis ball causes our teeth. So it is very bad for our teeth.
Oh and we just love squeezetoys! When we hear the sound, you immediately have our attention! We really like it when you throw it away for us. Usually we bring them back so that mum and dad can throw them again. We love that sound!
You see…there are many different toys that we like to play with. Can you now understand that it is difficult to choose a favorite?
