Coffee and a lot of catching up to do || Sheppard & Bella
After he left her office, he had to stop and turn in his microphone to the A/V booth before he could go back to his dressing room to change and take a shower. Before, he’d been hoping the shower would clear his mind before their trip for coffee. It had worked until he was out and cleaning his face of the last of the make-up, and the realization of the fact that she was back in town and working at Northwood washed over him again. He brushed his hair and pulled on a t-shirt before he picked his things up and left his dressing room to check out for the night.
The walk to the coffee shop did nothing to help his nerves, seeing as he couldn’t get her smile out of his head the whole way. It was a miracle that he found his way into the shop and up to the counter without shaking out of his clothes. Taking a glance at the menu before he stepped up to order, he figured that nothing was really going to help the jitters he already felt. “I’d like a Venti Latte, soy milk and hold the whip, thanks,” he told the barista, fishing in his pocket for his wallet. Once he found it, he paid and waited until his drink was ready.
His phone was a welcome distraction as he waited for Bella, and he scrolled through it aimlessly, past pictures and snippets of conversation on a half-forgotten social media site. Every time the door opened, he couldn’t help glancing up, hoping it was her.
